Parkora
An online booking service for airport, port and city-centre parking in Greece. Visitors compare car parks, see prices on a map and reserve a space in under a minute.
The brief
Parking at Greek airports and ports is sold by many independent operators, each with its own website and pricing. Travellers had no straightforward way to compare them, and operators had no shared channel for online reservations. Parkora was built to serve both.
What was built
Location, arrival and departure, and a list of available car parks with prices, distance and shuttle details, shown on a map.
A booking that completes in a few steps on a phone, with confirmation sent to the customer and the operator.
Prices are kept in line with the operators' own rates, with no hidden charges added at checkout.
The entire service is available in Greek and English, including transactional emails.
How the components connect
Technical notes
A custom web application on a Python backend with PostgreSQL, serving the Greek and English storefronts from the same codebase. Hosted on our own servers with nginx, systemd-managed services and daily backups.
Each operator's rates are held in the database and kept in line with their own published prices. Some operators are connected through a parking-management integration that confirms reservations automatically; others accept or decline reservations from a self-service operator portal and upload their own rate sheets.
Stripe handles payment at booking, with the balance settled at the car park. Refunds follow a fixed rule applied automatically by the platform.
A background worker sends each confirmed reservation to the operator and issues the customer's voucher by email, in the language the booking was made in.
An internal dashboard shows reservations, operator confirmations and exceptions. Scheduled scripts monitor competitor rates so Parkora's pricing position is visible day to day.
Live at Athens International Airport with off-airport operators; further locations are listed as coming soon.
